Your Questions About Nokia E71x

Mandy asks…

Is the Nokia e71x a good cell phone?

I’ve had a Samsung Blackjack 2 for about 8 months now and I’m tired of it. I type too fast for it and it’s really annoying because it doesn’t register all the keys i hit. I’m looking at the Nokia e71x and i was wondering can you type fast and it doesn’t miss your letters and is it a good phone over all?

admin answers:

I had the Blackjack 2 also & was due an upgrade. I narrowed it down to the Nokia E-71, Blackberry Bold & the Blackberry Curve 8900. I decided upon the Curve 8900. The E-71 is an excellent phone. Go to a store & check it out in person. That way you don’t have to take peoples word for it.

Does the At&t Nokia e71x have threaded text messaging?

I am thinking of buying the Nokia e71x for At&t, when it comes out. And was wondering does the phone have threaded text messaging, like blackberry phones? Can you use the ATT data plan to connect your PC to the internet via Nokia E71X?

I am getting the E71X. I don’t want to get the data plan since I already have internet, but I have a feeling it’s going to be pretty much forced. Then thought I remember seeing you could connect a PC to the internet VIA the ATT DATA PLAN through your cell phone.

Anyone know if this is true? My cell will be arriving shortly so I can test it myself, but maybe someone already knows.

Thanks!

admin answers:

You cannot. AT&T does not support tethering and it’s specifically prohibited in your AT&T contract.

How to use wi-fi on Nokia e71x ?

I don’t have a data plan for my phone, but it has a wifi. I was using wifi on my nokia e71x to connect to internet. I connected to my router and used “free internet” and thought my phone company (At&t) will not find out about that. But when I got my bills I realized I was charged for using wifi. So is that anyways to connect to internet through wifi and be not charged for that ?

admin answers:

Nope. Pay per minute.
