Is there a gift card thingy for iPad apps?
Hey it’s my friend’s birthday and he has an iPad. I was wondering if there is anything (like some sort of card) that I could get him for him to buy apps from.

admin answers:
The same iTunes Gift card can allow him to buy iPad apps as well.

admin answers:
There is an awesome app out now that determines your skins undertone and gives you a palette of colors designed to compliment your skin, hair, and eye color. It creates colors perfect for you! Check it out it is called Color Me True.

Recommendations for iPad apps for five year old autistic boy?
I have a five year old with autism. His developmental level is under two years. Can someone recommend some good speech apps and other essentials? Thanks

admin answers:
There are 2 apps that I have used that would be good. All of these apps are free.
The first is called “TapToTalk” and they are using it at my school for the non-verbal students. Basically you can tap the square for what you want and then it goes into more detail for some of them (eg. I want a drink, juice please). The problem is that he may not learn to speak if he has an alternate method of getting what he wants. It really depends on your goals with him.
Model me going places is good. It basically goes through situations (like the hairdressers or a restaurant) and describes exactly what happens with pictures and a voice over. The only problem is that it is very limited in the number of places it does.
There are apps that help teach facial expressions but this is probably not useful at this point in time. The one I used is called “AutismXpress.” It isn’t as good as the other Apps.
These are some apps I haven’t used. Some of these cost money.
There is another app which is like “TapToTalk” but a lot less restricted. It is called “Look2Learn” but it is more complex. The good thing about this is you can upload images from your everyday life and put your own voice on it. It is quite expensive though.
I know there are some apps that help teach sign language but I don’t know if you want him to learn that.
I assume you have already searched for “apps to help autism” on google.
